What types of cards can I use at Public?

At this time, credit cards, prepaid debit cards, and some neo-banking products are generally not compatible with Public’s platform and/or our payment processing partners. For the best results, please use a debit card associated with a traditional bank account.

Prepaid debit cards and neobanking products include options like PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, Card.com, Netspend, and other similar payment options may not be compatible.

Additionally, some smaller regional banks, though traditional, are not compatible with our systems or payment processing partners.

This list is not exhaustive, and options change as banks update their technology. If your payment method is not listed above as incompatible, please give it a try.

If you have a traditional debit card and are having issues connecting it, please do not hesitate to reach out to Public’s support team via chat or via email to support@public.com. When reaching out, please provide the name of the bank and the billing address associated with the debit card for more timely and effective assistance.
