How can non-US or non-UK based customers access any important documents related to their Public accounts from April 2024 onwards?

As of April 24th 2024, Public will no longer be supporting non-US based customers. However, non-US based customers who have onboarded with Public in the past, can still log-in to the app where they can find important documents in the documents section which is within the Account Settings section of the app. For example, if looking for a tax document, a customer would open the app and follow Account Settings >> Documents >> Tax statements. To note, the app will not be available on the iOS or Android app store from May 2024 onwards.

As a non-US customer, which tax documentation can I retrieve?

Any non-US customer who has bought and sold US-stocks with Public.com is entitled to receive a tax document called a 1042-S which is prepared by our clearing partners, Apex Clearing Corporation. This document is prepared every year. For accounts with less than $10 in gains, a document is not required as the gains do not meet minimum thresholds.

If you are having trouble finding the documentation you are looking for, please contact support@public.com with your name, date of birth and country from which you downloaded Public, and please specify which document you are looking for.
