How does 24/5 equities trading impact my portfolio and charts?
Currently the portfolio, portfolio chart and asset charts are based on regular and extended hours. 24/5 will extend the time frame that these charts are updating from today 04:00 AM where pre-market starts until 10:00 PM where after-hours session stops on all weekdays to Sunday 08:00 PM to Friday 08:00 PM.
This means you will now see a live representation of the value of your portfolio and positions as well as the ability to buy and sell during a much larger part of the week.
The 24/5 sessions are less liquid than regular and extended hours, meaning the portfolio values and stock prices will be more jumpy, especially in smaller stocks. Some stocks have no trading at all in the 24/5 session (yet), which means the prices of those typically defaults back to the last traded in the regular or extended session.
