How does 24/5 equities trading impact my portfolio and charts?
With the introduction of 24/5 trading, you now have the ability to view chart data and information for your portfolio, along with individual positions outside of regular market hours.
The position and portfolio charts will now reflect pre-market, after-hours, and overnight prices by default. This takes place between 8:00 p.m. ET on Sunday until 8:00 p.m. ET on Friday.
This means you will now see a live representation of the value of your portfolio and positions as well as the ability to buy and sell during a much larger part of the week.
The 24/5 sessions are less liquid than regular and extended hours, meaning the portfolio values and stock prices will be more jumpy, especially in smaller stocks.
Some stocks have no trading at all in the 24/5 session (yet), which means the prices of those typically defaults back to the last traded in the regular or extended session.
You can toggle off the 24/5 price and chart display under your Account Settings.
