New T+1 Settlement Cycle and what you need to know
New T+1 Settlement Cycle and what you need to know
Updated over 7 months ago

Beginning May 28th, 2024 the settlement cycle will change from two business days (T+2) to one business day (T+1).

Under the original two business day settlement time, if you sold a stock on a Monday then the funds would be settled on Wednesday. With the new settlement time of one business day, if you sold stock on a Monday then your funds would be settled on Tuesday.

This is an industry-wide change due to recent rule changes by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).

What is settlement?

Settlement is when we consider funds to be fully processed and available in your account.

What do I need to do?

No action is required from Public members. The new rule will automatically apply to any trades made on or after 5/28/24.
