Public acquired the brokerage accounts of Stocktwits, Carta, and Tornado. If you migrated your account to the Public platform, your assets were transferred, but your historical records remain hosted by our clearing firm, Apex Clearing.
How to Access Historical Statements & Tax Forms
Documents generated while your account was held at your previous firm are available via Apex Online. If you do not have an Apex login, you will need to create one:
Go to Apex Online.
Select Create User ID.
Enter your previous account number. *Note: You can find your former account number on your first Public brokerage statement following the transfer. Look under the "Activity" section within "Account Activity details," specifically in the "Miscellaneous Transactions" line item.
Stocktwits: May 2024
Tornado: September 2025
Carta: October 2024
Important Tax Information
If you had reportable activity this year, you may receive two separate tax packages:
From your previous firm: Available via Apex Online by February 17th.
From Public: Available directly in the Public app.
