How do I place a Prediction Markets trade?

You can place a trade from the Prediction Markets hub, from an event page, or from the asset page of a related stock.

  1. Open the event you want to trade and tap the outcome you want

  2. Choose Yes or No on that outcome

  3. Choose your order type and enter either a number of contracts or a dollar amount

  4. Review the order details, including the fee, and submit

What you'll see on the order page:

The order page shows the bid and the ask available at that time. It also shows the fee before you submit, so you'll know your total cost up front.

Entering your order by contracts or by dollar:

You can enter an order two ways. Entering a number of contracts tells us exactly how many you want. Entering a dollar amount tells us how much you want to spend, and we'll convert it to the closest whole number of contracts. Prediction market contracts aren't available in fractional amounts.

Event contracts trade between $0.01 and $0.99, and the price can be viewed as the market's implied probability of that outcome. If your prediction is correct, each contract pays $1. If your prediction is incorrect, the contract pays nothing, and you lose the amount you paid, plus any fees. You don't have to hold a contract until the event resolves. You can place an order to sell your position before then, although whether and at what price your order executes depends on that market's liquidity.

Order Settlement:

For trades placed before 8:00 PM ET, trades settle 1 business day from execution. For any trades placed after 8:00 PM ET, those trades will settle within two business days, from the trade date.
