What's included in a Treasury Account?
Updated over a month ago

There are ten different Treasury options available to include in your allocation, ranging in maturity length from 3-months and up to 30-years. Public provides easy access to 1 year, 2 year, and 5 year Treasury ladder portfolios, though members are able to choose among any of the ten available Treasury bond options and create their own allocation. Members should use their time horizons as benchmarks for what length of Treasury bonds to choose - choosing bonds that are longer than your time horizon carries additional risk if you need to sell before the bonds mature.

The bonds in a Treasury Account will be represented by the on-the-run Treasury bonds that are purchased in the secondary market. On-the-run Treasury bonds are the most recent Treasury issuance at that maturity length, so purchases will always be directed towards the most recent on-the-run Treasury when a purchase is made.

Public Investing will not update your Treasury Account allocations in any way without your approval, except in instances of Corporate Actions, where you will be notified.

Diversification and asset allocation do not guarantee future returns or eliminate the risk of loss. The Treasury Account is not intended to ensure adequate diversification and you should conduct your own research and make your own determinations as to whether a particular investment aligns with your investment objectives, risk tolerance, and financial situation.
