Margin investing, or margin lending, is an extension of credit to you based on your current margin-eligible securities and cash. Margin-eligible securities are stocks, bonds, and ETFs held in your main brokerage account.
Before you enable margin lending, please make sure you meet the criteria for a margin account:
● Enable a margin account: A margin account, unlike a cash account, allows you to be eligible for margin investing.
● Meet margin account minimums: To enable margin lending, you must have at least $2,000 in cash marginable securities in your brokerage account account.
