What is changing with my 6-Month Treasury Bill Account?

After October 31, 2026, your 6-Month Treasury Bill Account, provided by Jiko Securities, will no longer accept new deposits. Your account is not closing at this time.

Until further notice, nothing else about your 6-Month Treasury Bill Account is changing. Your existing Treasury bills will continue to work the same way they do today, including automatic reinvestment at maturity if you have it turned on. You can also continue to sell and withdraw at any time.

Public is working toward winding down its relationship with Jiko Securities, and we will share more information with members as it becomes available.

If you would like to continue adding money to U.S. Treasuries, you can open a Treasury Account offered directly through Public. A Treasury Account lets you invest in Treasuries with maturities from 3 months to 30 years. You can build a ladder made up only of 6-month Treasury bills, set up recurring deposits, and choose whether to reinvest or receive cash at maturity. To learn more about features, fees, and the minimum initial deposit, see our Treasury Account FAQs, and Fee Schedule.
