If you have a Public brokerage account and are not restricted from participating in IPOs, you can request shares in IPOs with Public when there are shares available.
Please note, you may only request whole shares in an IPO, and requests can only be made for your brokerage account (not IRAs).
If you have previously participated in an IPO with Public and violated our “Flipping Policy”, you may be restricted from participating or receiving an allocation of future IPOs. If you sell IPO shares within 90 days of the offering, it is considered "flipping". This policy helps maintain access to IPOs for all customers, as excessive flipping may cause underwriters to limit Public’s participation in future offerings.
For further information on who is restricted from participating in IPOs, please see our FAQ, and FINRA Rules 5130 and 5131.
