The W-8BEN is an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) form to collect the personal information of people who are not U.S. citizens or U.S. nationals (Referred to as a Non-resident Alien). This is a required form, and common across all investment platforms that offer US-stocks. All new non-US customers must complete this before opening an investment account.
